HEATSTRIP Design 600 mm extension: choosing the suspension height
A 600 mm extension for an intermediate suspension length between ceiling and heater.
Choose the length according to the height of the support and the intended height of the heater. Include the dimensions of the heater and its brackets in your calculation.
The tubular extension kits for Heatstrip Design suspend the heater below its mounting point. Length alone does not guarantee comfort: also check the direction of the heater and the occupied area.
Determining the installation height
For the THH1500/2400/3200AEU series, the instructions recommend a height of 2.3 to 2.7 m. The extension helps position the heater within this range, taking the complete assembly into account.
Measure from the load-bearing support to the heater’s final position. Observe the minimum clearances from nearby materials; extensions do not allow you to reduce them.
Comparing lengths
This page covers kit THHAC-006, which is 600 mm long. The table shows the other lengths in the range to help you choose the required drop.
| Kit product code | Extension length | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| THHAC-005 | 30 cm (300 mm) | For ceilings slightly above the optimum mounting height |
| THHAC-006 | 60 cm (600 mm) | For higher ceilings requiring an intermediate drop |
| THHAC-007 | 90 cm (900 mm) | For very high ceilings or tall pergolas |
| THHAC-008 | 120 cm (1200 mm) | A 1.20 m drop for a high structure |
Kit material
The instructions for this range describe 316 stainless steel tubes. The material does not remove the need to check the attachment to the support.
Provide a support capable of carrying the weight of the complete assembly. Check any particular exposure conditions in the heater’s instructions; the material alone does not establish suitability for coastal locations.
Contents and installation
The Design instructions specify two tubes and the parts that connect them to the heater. Select the ceiling anchors separately to suit the structure.
The complete kit contains:
- 2 extension tubes in rigid stainless steel.
- The mounting brackets required to connect to the mounting system.
- The connectors for a neat connection between tubes and heater.
- The screws for connection to the heater supplied in the kit.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What does the 600 mm length refer to?
It is the length of the extension. The heater’s final height also depends on the brackets and the dimensions of the unit.
Is the kit universal?
This kit belongs to the THH series mounting system. Do not use it with another range based on length alone.
What should I check before drilling?
The type of support, anchor points, electrical cable route and clearances specified in the instructions.
