Heatstrip TT-MTR Controller: wall timer and remote control for simple operation

The ideal solution to automate heater shutdown and improve daily control of thermal comfort.

Why precise control matters for radiant heating

Heatstrip infrared heating works through direct radiant heat aimed at people and surrounding surfaces. To avoid leaving a heater running longer than necessary, adding a controller with timer functionality is especially useful. The TT-MTR has been designed around a simple operating logic: switch on, choose a timed cycle, then allow the heater to switch off automatically once the selected period ends.

It is a wall-mounted controller with infrared remote control, designed for clear and immediate use in both residential and professional environments. Its main advantage is adding more practical control to Heatstrip heaters compatible with external wall switching, while also helping improve daily electricity management.

Timer modes and user-friendly operation

The TT-MTR can be operated directly from the wall unit or via the supplied remote control. It offers four simple operating modes suited to the most common outdoor heating and covered-area applications.

Programmed modes: 1 h / 2 h / 4 h

These three timer settings make it easy to adapt heating duration to real needs: occasional heating, terrace dining, extended evening use or limited-duration outdoor reception.

Continuous mode and remote control

Continuous mode allows manual operation without automatic shutdown. The infrared remote control offers the same functions, with a range of approximately 10 metres in direct line of sight.

Electrical safety and power management

The TT-MTR wall controller is rated for a maximum capacity of 16 amps. In a standard 220–240 V installation, this represents a significant load, sufficient to control one heater or several units within the permitted total power limit.

Important technical note: if the total heater load exceeds the controller’s capacity, an appropriate power solution must be planned with the help of a qualified electrician. In this case, the TT-MTR remains the control device, while the main electrical load is managed through a dedicated switching solution within the installation.

As indicated in Heatstrip manuals, the controller must be installed in a dry location and according to current electrical regulations. It must not be positioned in areas exposed directly to rain or water splashes.

Frequently asked questions about the TT-MTR

What timer durations are available?

The TT-MTR offers three preset timer settings: 1 hour, 2 hours or 4 hours, as well as continuous operation without automatic shutdown.

What is the remote control range?

The infrared remote control has an approximate range of 10 metres and requires a clear line of sight to the receiver for proper operation.

Can the unit be installed outdoors?

The manual specifies that the TT-MTR must be installed in a dry location. It is therefore not intended for direct exposure to rain or water.
